Yo what is up i'm Michael Flecha and here it is the moment you all have been waiting for the Preview for Super Bowl XLIV. The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.
Let's starts with the AFC Champions Indianapolis Colts. What is there to say 14-2 might as well could have been 16-0 However they decide to take the starters out and rest them for the playoffs. Well what could have been is now what might be one of the all time greats in all of the National Football League.
Payton Manning the league MVP for the fourth time had a great season. 69% completation rate. 4500 yards and 33 touchdowns and 16 INTS. He has done alot with not so much as a running game. This season Joseph Addai only had 828 yards rushing and 10 touchdown. plus two 1000 yard receivers Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark.
the teams ranks was pretty strong.
Points per game 26.0 was 7th in the league Yards per game 363 was 9th in the League Pass Yards per game was 282 2nd in the league but the rushing yards per game was the worst in the entire NFL (80.9)
Indy's D has been a bend but not break D this season with Robert Martis and Dwight Freeney being the leaders during the regular season. But the Colts D as a whole is good
Over giving up 19 points that is 8th in the league 339 yards which is high only 18th best in the league Passing yards they give up about 212 14th in the league Rushing has been a problem all season giving up about 126 yards per game. Fumbles is alright they have forced 14 and recover 9 D has picked off 16 during the regular season and 3 INTS in this post season. 34 sacks in the regular Season and only one sack in this postseason.
Now to the NFC Champions New Orleans Saints.
Let's start off with the offense. I mean what is there to say. They are the best when it comes to the offense. Very explosive that can kill you like the colts in so many ways. this is a total balanced team. Unlike the colts that needs more passing then running to win.
They score 32 points per game that is first in the NFL 404 yards per game that is again number 1 in all of the NFL Pass yards per game 272 fourth in the league Rushing yards per game is 132 sixth in the league.
This is the success of so many people first you have to talk about Drew Brees 4388 passing yards 71% Completation rate 34 touchdowns and 11 Picks
But there is a balanced running attack as well. Pierre Thomas 793 rushing yards and 6 Touchdown Mike Bell 654 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns Reggie Bush is a danerous threat on the ground, in the air or even be a punt returner. This regular season he scored 8 touchdowns with a combine yard of 855
Receivers was getting alot of love. We call this spreading the ball. think about this during the regular season Marques Colston 70 catches 1074 yards and 9 TDS Devery Henderson 51 catches 804 yards and 2 TDS Robert Meachem 45 catches 722 yards and 9 TDS Jermey Shockey 48 catches 569 yards and 3 TDS
I mean the list goes on and on about how good this running backs and receiving core is.
Now for the D
Well there is only one word that can describe them. BALLHAWKS you want to now why. Alright here it is
Points per game is about 21 20th in the league yards per game is about 358 25th in the league Pass Yd per game is about 236 26th in the league Rushing yards per game is 122 21st in the league
Fored fumbles was 15 and they recover 13 regular season Force fumbles is 5 fumbles up to this point
INTS 26 regular year which is third best 3 ints in only two games which is unbelieveable and proves about the BALL HAWKS
Sacks was 35 in the regular season and in the postseason is right now at 1. I know not amazing but they had to face good Quarterbacks like Kurt Warner and Brett Farve. Now Payton Manning in the super bowl.
Alright here it is keys to victory in superbowl 44. Colts need to win 1. RUn the football. Joseph Addai needs to have a big game here. You need to have a balance attack in the game with the saints normally giving up about 122 yards in the regular season and plus Adrian Peterson ran for three touchdowns in the NFC championship game against this same saints D.
2. Payton being payton I think you know where i am heading with this. Payton Manning enough said. He needs to be like what he has been all season long MVP and try to play like it. YOu know this is the big game and you was here before so just go out there and just kill.
3. D needs to step up.
Defense needs to get pressure and try to shut down one of the best offense in all of the NFL. Saints offense can kill you in so many ways. Either Drew Brees and the running attack.
For the Saints Drew Brees
Drew has been dealing with Payton this and payton that. I think he is getting a little disrespected. So now you have the world stage to prove that you are on of the elite QB's in the biggest game of them all.
Balance attack YOu have to go with the bread and butter of your team. A little running and some passing. YOu have done that all season long with three good running backs and drew brees. A mixture of Run and pass could be the trick to be world champions.
D get to Manning:
Defense you are ballhawks. You will have to get pressure to manning he is pronde to the takedown. He was sacked 14 times all year. 10 regular and 4 in this post season. You will have to make him comfontable my pressure him to throw the ball early and hope that your d makes the plays.
Time control. I think this is more for both teams but more for the saints. If you can keep the high power offense of the Colts off the field then you have a shot at a major upset here. Now you will have to play hard and come with it.
Final Burn: Alright here is my perdiction for the superbowl. i think we will have to see who can handle the pressure casue at the start of this game will be alot of butterflies and it's pretty much who can calm down and just play their game will get the upper hand in the start. I just think that it's going ot be like this my feeling is that if the Saints can keep the game close then we might be calling the saints the world champions.
I can see Colts try to expose the D of New Orleans and try to blow this game out early if that happens Colts roll and we have a bad super bowl and that is not what everone wants.
Saints need to keep the Colts off the field and maybe get the ball first to set the tempo in the game. Then hope your D bends and don't break. With everything on the line that is one thing you will have to watch for.
But when it's all said and done. i believe that a balance attack by the saints will be enough and i have the New Orleans saints go on and win their first super bowl in their histoy by the final score of 38-35
Alright that's it. Leave a comment on the bottom if you agree or don't and enjoy the super bowl the game is on cbs at 6 pm tomorrow night. I will have a recap of the game sometime on monday. Until then You know the routine hugs and handpounds i'm out

Nice preview!I'm just hoping for a good game. I think one of the main keys for the Saints is to not turn the ball over. That means no bloopers by Reggie Bush. When he returns punts, he needs to make sure he catches that ball before he takes off running. I watch a lot of him, as he is one of my favorites, and I can tell you that sometimes he just tries to do too much. Of all days, this is the day where if he has any second thoughts at all, just fair catch it.Another thing, Sean Payton needs to play it smart if the game is within a TD or FG at the end. We see it so often where teams lose because they score too fast at the end, leaving too much time on the clock. I'm telling you now, if Manning has enough time to put together a game winning drive, he is going to complete that drive. It doesn't matter if you have 20 men on the field. He'll pick you apart. So the Saints better play strategically in that situation.

When Payton is on top of his game he's as close to unbeatable as about any I've ever seen. I don't necessarily think the Colts have to run the ball well to be successful tonight, they've proved all season that even if they are one dimensional, that one dimension is pretty damn good. The old addage in football is that you establish the run to set up your passing game. Not so in Indy. Manning uses the pass to soften up the D front to set up Adai and the run game. This wouldn't necessarily work for most teams, but then most teams don't have Payton Manning.
If I'm the Colts I stick with what got you here in the first place, Manning's arm. I absolutely think he's capable of putting the game squarely on his shoulders; this aint his first rodeo and probably wont be his last. I'd put as much pressure as possible on the Saints' secondary and force them to stop Manning. Manning has been, unfairly I think, labeled as a bit of choke-artist in the post season. My guess is that alot of this comes from going 0-2 in the playoffs after the '06 Superbowl season, or maybe people just like to bash him, who knows. For his career Manning has a QB rating of 84.8 it's higher than the career quarterback rating of Roger Staubach, Jim Kelly, Len Dawson, Sonny Jurgensen, Troy Aikman, Warren Moon, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, and John Elway. All of them are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
So far in this post-season his QB rating is a mere 104.6, completing around 67 percent of his passes for over 600 yards, 5 TDs and 1 pick. Not bad. My prediction is Manning and the Colts pick up their second ring.
No disrespect intended at all to Brees and company, but I think it's asking too much of them to win their first ever title against a veteran sharp-shooter like Payton. 38-27 in a game that isn't as close as that score. Oh, and Budweiser will again have the best commercial.

Bravesfan- Nice preview, thanks....
Like Common, I just hope its a good game. It should be! I love seeing Manning back in the Super Bowl. He is one of my all time favorites. Getting to him and shaking him up a little will, in my opinion, be the Saints' biggest key to a win.
I agree with Skulls...Colts and Peyton get the victory tonight.

great game. just as good as last year's.
i heard a lot of "who dat" before and after this game at the party i went to haha.
peyton manning had an outstanding game and proved why he is one the greatest quarterbacks to play the game. he already has a super bowl ring so even though the colts lost, he's already accomplished everything he needs to.?
at least now the city of new orleans has something to be proud of, and mardi gras arrived a few weeks early.
mainly i'm happy for former trojans like reggie bush, sedrick ellis, and billy miller.?thanks especially to reggie bush for making the super bowl that much more fun to watch, especially being at a super bowl party full of trojan fans that i tailgate with who also wanted the saints to win. it was crazy every time the saints made a big play. and it's that much better when you're in a pool (betting).
i also saw on the saints' roster players from clemson, tennessee, south carolina, nebraska, alabama, and other former players of teams that a lot of the regulars on here support, so it's still a positive in some way for you guys.
it was a great way to end the football season.

I actually thought the game was very boring, the most exciting moment was the td int return, but the game was effectively over at that point. A dissapointing and boring end to a forgettable NFL Season. Its just not as good as it used to be.

I'll take my crow medium well please. Hats off to the Saints, I was wrong. Seemed like once Freeney re-agrivated his ankle the Colts lost any kind of effective pass rush and defensive momentum. But the Colts made me and my predictions look like pure genious, for the first quarter, then....not so much.
