Game 1 - South Carolina 7, UCLA 2. The South Carolina Gamecocks have won the first game of the national championship series of the College World Series, and are now just one victory away from the school's first ever title. UCLA threw their ace - Gerrit Cole - but USC had no problem with him, scoring seven runs in the game. Mike Roth again came up big for USC on the mound, surrending zero runs while in the game. Fans across the Palmetto State will be glued to their TV sets Tuesday night to see if the Gamecocks can bring home college baseball's ultimate prize.

As a Clemson fan, this is tough to watch. But as a sports fan, the Gamecocks seem deserving. They had a huge year (ranked in top 10 basically all season), and I really appreciate the kind of coach they have in Ray Tanner. Tomorrow night will see UCLA throw Trevor Bauer - the crazy man - and USC will get their best shot. But I get a feeling the Cocks have what it takes this year, and a dog-pile is not far away....
