In a game that was never really close, the UNC Tar Heels brought home their second natonal title under Head Coach Roy Williams, and their fifth in school history with a 89-72 win over Michigan State. UNC, the only ACC school to advance beyond the sweet-16, was anchored by 21 points and eight stealts from guard Ty Lawson. Wayne Ellington contributed 19 points, while 4-time All-ACC Tyler Hansbrough scored 18 points in his final collegiate game. 72,962 fans, mostly cheering for MSU, saw first-hand that UNC is clearly the best team in the land.
