Mississippi won the final Cotton Bowl Game to ever take place in Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, 47-34. The Rebels finished the 2008 season by winning six straight games and look to be an SEC West favorite when the 2009 season nears. Texas Tech and its precision passing attack were no match for Ole Miss on this day.

You have to give UM Coach Houston Nutt credit. In just his first year at the school, he has his team playing like SEC championshp contenders. And why shouldn't they be in the talk for the 2009 SEC Title? The Rebels won at both LSU and Florida this season, two of the hardest places in the nation to win. This team looked disciplined and sharp in this game. Emotions ran high after the game as Ole Miss (9-4) enjoyed its first bowl since 2003 after bouncing back from a 3-8 2007.
